Facing my Fears of Filming In Public
It has always been my goal to make more videos for YouTube. I love how it gives us photographers more of a voice and a chance to truly share our passion with others. I dream of sharing my journey as an aspiring adventure photographer with you all.
However, I’m scared of what people think. I really fear that somebody is secretly watching me taking out my camera, setting it up, filming myself, running back to it, looking at myself on the screen. And there they are, judging me and my ‘self indulgent’ behavior.
“Hah, look at that influencer.” “He thinks he’s so cool.” “That's so sad, is he 5 years old?”. Damn it brain… But these are the thoughts that run through my head.
The truth is nobody cares, they all have their own fears and worries to deal with. We all know that everybody is so caught up in themselves yet still we let worries of what they think of us, stop us from doing what really matters.
I mean if somebody is going to judge us for taking on a passion, who cares. They probably only do that out of jealousy and guilt that they never had the courage to live out theirs. Therefore, their opinions are invalid on the matter. Let’s just create and smile with enthusiasm at anyone who catches us doing so. Who knows, you might just liberate someone to do the same.
So I wanted to share with you a recent step I made in the progress of this…
Here is a photography adventure I made in the amazing area of Lake Rotoiti on New Zealand’s stunning south island. I love photography and I wanted to share with you a little more of what goes on behind the scenes to get the shots.
I hope you enjoy, and I hope you get a chance to have an adventure soon too.
